After a group of off-duty Milwaukee cops kicked the crap out of Frank Jude, Jr. in 2004, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal stumbled on the fact that one of the cops involved – the one the federal judge hearing the cases designated the worst of the lot – had a priors before joining the force. When the paper asked the department for a list of other officers on the force who had criminal records, they were given the brush-off. Those records didn’t exist and they weren’t about to start collecting them. So the men and women patrolling the streets of Milwaukee, enforcing laws and employing the use of deadly force when necessary, are held to a lower standard than your average school teacher, bank teller or day care worker…
A private Georgia university is reportedly requiring its employees to sign a statement indicating they are not gay or face termination.
Shorter University, a private Christian university in Rome, Ga., is forcing its 200 employees to sign a "personal lifestyle statement" rejecting pre-martial sex, adultery and homosexuality or risk getting fired, WSB-TV reports.
"Our goal is not to offend people," Don Dowless, the school's president, told the station. "Our goal is to declare who we are."
Dowless said if employees indicate a preference for any sexual activity "not agreeable with the Bible," they will be terminated.
"I think that anybody who adheres to a lifestyle that is outside of what the Biblical mandate is -- what the board has passed, including the president -- would not be allowed to continue here," he told the station.
Dowless reportedly says the pledge is legal because the private university does not receive any federal funding.
Some Shorter University students, however, claim the requirement is a form of discrimination.
"Who is one person to judge what somebody else does?" said one student, who spoke anonymously to the station. "It's none of their business." (RT: if you don't like it, don't go to a school that has those values. Other than that STFU)
Students are reportedly not being asked to sign the pledge.

Wright said, "It's too bad someone with a concealed weapons permit didn't walk by. That would fix it." He said people are tired of doing the right thing and criminals getting away with their actions.
He encouraged women to walk in groups, and he ended by saying again, "I want you to get a concealed weapons permit. Don't get Mace. Get a firearm."
And then he said, "I think I better stop before I get sanctioned."
Milan-based designer Gabriele Diamanti's "Eliodomestico" solar-powered eco-distiller was recently selected as one of 12 finalists for the Prix Émile Hermès 2011. The small, vat-like still is made entirely from terracotta and zinc-plated metal sheets, and, in keeping with the Italian designer's intention for "Eliodomestico" to be completely open source, "it's designed to be produced (and eventually repaired) by local craftsmen."
A Massachusetts company that received a $43 million Energy Department loan guarantee last year filed for bankruptcy Sunday, a step certain to fuel criticism of federal green energy financing in the wake of the solar company Solyndra’s collapse.
Beacon Power had received federal loan guarantee to help build an energy storage plant in Stephentown, New York that began operating in January. The Treasury Department’s Federal Financing Bank provided the loan.
Beacon sought bankruptcy protection two days after the White House ordered an independent 60-day evaluation of the Energy Department's loan programs aimed at ensuring effective management and monitoring.
The TV show has a new cast of local characters led by a vivacious 6-year-old girl named Rani who loves cricket and traditional Pakistani music. Her sidekick, Munna, is a 5-year-old boy obsessed with numbers and banging away on Pakistani bongo drums, or tabla.
The U.S. is bankrolling the initiative with $20 million, hoping it will improve education in a country where one-third of primary school-age children are not in class. Washington also hopes the program will increase tolerance at a time when the influence of radical views is growing.

A Texas gun trainer released an ad this week for his handgun training class. He bans liberals from the class saying:
“If you are a socialist liberal and/or voted for the current campaigner in chief, please do not take this class. You have already proven that you cannot make a knowledgeable and prudent decision under the law.”Agreed.
The ad also bans non-Christian Arabs and Muslims from taking the class.
There's outrageous, then there's truly outrageous.
Beaning a guy with either a "less lethal" round in the head or (as has been more-recently claimed) a launched gas grenade is bad enough. In fact, that sure looks to me to be felonious assault and I want to know where the investigations and indictments are.
But that's not the worst of it.
Here's a guy who claims (and has the projectile extracted from his body to prove it) that he was shot with a rubber round while carrying the original wounded man.
You can't fire upon people rendering medical assistance to a soldier in combat - that's a war crime!
Never mind that the Oakland cops claim they didn't fire any rubber rounds. So the one removed from this person's body, which he has possession of, came to be there.... exactly how?
What sort of country do we live in again?
The officer(s) involved in this outrage must stand trial. All of them.
The letter is blatantly anti-government and anti-law enforcement in nature. It not only condones but even encourages citizens to kill any “government agent” (i.e. law enforcement officers), who in their perception violates their rights. Examples are given in the document, of “illegal” search and seizure, sobriety and border checkpoints, airport security, etc… In essence this document states that citizens have the right and moral obligation to resist any action by law enforcement that is viewed as a violation of the citizen’s rights, and often-times resistance involves killing officers.Read the comments at Hot Air. Same ole sheeple responses.

On October 20th, 2011 the Obama-endorsed Occupy Chicago activists invited unrepentant domestic terrorist turned University of Illinois professor, Bill Ayers, to lead a “teach-in” on the virtues of confrontational tactics. The teaching session was dubbed “non-violent disobedience” in the anti-capitalist revolution.
Bill Ayers told the young leftists about how he met with the North Vietnamese to discuss fomenting revolution in America. The meeting was held on the street in downtown Chicago. The young activists lapped it up.
A Florida appeals court has rejected a request to block a Hillsborough judge from upholding Islamic law in a case involving the former trustees of a local Tampa mosque that has garnered the national spotlight.
The state's 2nd District Court of Appeal on Friday denied without comment a petition filed by the mosque, known as the Islamic Education Center of Tampa, which is challenging Hillsborough Circuit Judge Richard Nielsen’s ruling in March that he intended to cite “ecclesiastical Islamic law” in the case, the St. Petersburg Times reported
Deputy U.S. Attorney General James Cole confirmed on Wednesday that the Obama administration was pulling back all training materials used for the law enforcement and national security communities, in order to eliminate all references to Islam that some Muslim groups have claimed are offensive.
Top Justice Department officials convened a meeting Wednesday where invited Islamist advocates lobbied them for cutbacks in anti-terror funding, changes in agents’ training manuals, additional curbs on investigators and a legal declaration that U.S. citizens’ criticism of Islam constitutes racial discrimination. With Obama baby daddy thing becoming more & more prevalent. The department’s “civil rights lawyers are top of the line — I say this with utter honesty — I know they can come up with a way” to redefine criticism as discrimination, said Sahar Aziz, a female, Egyptian-American lawyer.
“I’d be willing to give a shot at it,” said Aziz, who is a fellow at the Michigan-based Muslim advocacy group, the Institute for Social Policy & Understanding.
None of the Islamist advocates of civil rights officials in attendance, including Perez, objected to Aziz’s call for free-speech restrictions.

The definitive online law library service Justia.com has been caught red-handed via web caching services as having fraudulently removed all references to the definitive "Natural Born Citizen" SCOTUS decision, Minor vs. Happersett, from it's entire library.
New evidence conclusively establishes that 25 U.S. Supreme Court opinions were sabotaged then republished at Justia.com during the run up to the ’08 election. My prior report documented the scrubbing of just two cases. But last week, a third sabotaged case was discovered which led to a thorough examination of all US Supreme Court cases which cite “Minor v. Happersett” as they appeared on Justia.com between 2006 and the present.
The fatality of a 14 year old California girl was entered into the VAERS database on August 23, 2011 – 134 days after her death in April. The latest Gardasil victim died of cardiac arrest 14 days after vaccination. According to VAERS report # 430780 , the adolescent was vaccinated on March 28, had no other life-threatening illnesses, and received no other vaccinations.
The VAERS write up includes this statement: “Found dead in bed in a.m. by family. Pathologist stated cause of death as consistent with cardiac insufficiency, due to cardiac arrhythmia, due to probable early cardiomyopathy. Child Death Review Team felt this death was consistent with a diagnosis of sudden cardiac death.”

As we are pulled inexorably into an era of global economic depression and political neo-feudalism, the globally sourced retail supply chains we rely upon will wilt and wither. Many, if not most, of the local retailers and big box stores in our communities will disappear either through an inability to secure globally manufactured product (due to a plethora of factors from political instability to bankruptcy) or a lack of local demand (nobody will be able to afford it). Local strip malls will turn into miniature ghost towns and community life will whither away as people bunker themselves in their homes waiting for the government or Wall Street to rescue them. Unfortunately for them, that rescue won't be coming.
In contrast, retail commercial activity within resilient communities will be growing and in some cases exceeding the activity seen before the depression. The reason? The effort these communities made in building locally viable open markets that promoted the wares of local producers.
In most cases, these open markets started as farmers markets that showcased the products of local organic farmers and gardeners. As the economy worsened the number of farmers/gardeners selling local food increased (many travelling from communities that didn't run a local market), flooding the market with fresh product. With the volume increasing, local market masters (the people in charge of maintaining an open market's viability as a venture) banded together to help smooth the availability of product across different communities and establish simple quality control systems (like Agritrue). Next, given the availability of space in the community centers as branded commercial businesses folded, these farmers markets migrated to the town centers. Over time, the market amenities were improved and interior space was secured to allow all weather operation.
With the establishment of a thriving hub of commerce in the community center, two new innovations were possible:
First, these open markets began to include days to allow local makers to showcase their capabilities in making (to order) everything from flatware to furniture to appliances. While some used traditional methods of craft-work (either by hand or machine) or artistic technique, most of the new makers used inexpensive CNC machines to fabricate a plethora of items locally. People visiting on these market days where able to work directly with the maker to help select, customize or fit the design of the on-line designs for the products they were buying to order. They were also able to help select the locally approved materials that the products were made with depending on local availability and cost.
Second, the food production system was expanded vertically to allow for the creation of processed foods. In other words, the community added a food processing co-op that enabled commercial scale food prep, canning/storage, and professional abattoir (slaughterhouse) services. This commercial level facility allowed local producers to radically increase the number of processed foods made available at the market (or those people in the community that just wanted to DIY lots of food for themselves and their families). They also helped set up some larger farms/orchards on unused/foreclosed land and integrated this farming into the fabric of the community. Soon after that, a community restaurant was opened nearby, to utilize the locally grown products and processed foods. Entertainment was quick to follow, and most market days featured entertainers working the marketplace from when it opened until well into the night.
In time, the open market became a vibrant hub of the resilient community's economy.
NOTE: This is one method of approach, there will be many. It's meant to get you thinking on ways to build a thriving local economy in your community. There's lots more of this in "The Networked Resilient Community" book I'm working on. Remember: produce everything you can locally, virtualize the rest.
"It can be powerful during military operations especially in urban combat situations," said Charvat.
The device works by emitting frequency waves at a low-power microwave signal. That signal will hit in the direction of the target, in this case a wall. Each time a wave hits the wall only some of it is absorbed inside of the wall, a tiny portion actually gets through. Once the waves go through the wall, they propagate whatever is behind the wall and pass back through that wall and into the radar's receivers.
Only moving images can be detected, so an image such as a couch or nonmoving appliance would not show up on the monitor. Images appear as red blobs moving about the screen and it looks as the image would be away and across from the actual radar. The researchers are currently working on a detection algorithm that would convert these red blobs into a cleaner image.

A man living as an "adult baby" in California claims the federal government will allow him to continue collecting Social Security disability checks.
Thornton claimed that his disability benefits were based not on his lifestyle as an adult baby, but on a range of conditions -- from post-traumatic stress disorder to ADHD to spinal problems to depression. "All my illnesses have had extensive testing," he wrote on his site.Oh but wait he CAN make money
Coburn wrote to Inspector General Patrick P. O'Caroll Jr with the following opinion. "Given that Mr. Thornton is able to determine what is appropriate attire and actions in public, drive himself to complete errands, design and custom-make baby furniture to support a 350-pound adult and run an Internet support group, it is possible that he has been improperly collecting disability benefits for a period of time."
A U.S. Predator drone, along with a French fighter jet, fired on the convoy said to be carrying Muammar Qaddafi in the moments before his death, a U.S. defense official told Fox News on Thursday.
The official said the drone and French jet fired on a "large convoy" leaving Qaddafi's hometown of Sirte. A French defense official earlier said about 80 vehicles were in the convoy -- the official said the strike did not destroy the convoy but that fighters on the ground afterward intercepted the vehicle carrying Qaddafi.
President Obama said Thursday that the death of Qaddafi ends a "long and painful chapter" for the Libyan people.
The president, speaking in the Rose Garden, announced that Libyans have "won their revolution."
"Today we can definitively say that the Qaddafi regime has come to an end," he said.
Qaddafi died of wounds suffered during his capture near Sirte, according to a spokesman for the National Transitional Council in Libya.

Nobody really knows the real reason for most, some say a sixth sense… The Obama factor played a part but I think the SMART folks in this world saw the writing on the wall and remembered history. Things start off well with creation, turn negative with Job and the patriarchs, improve again with Moses, dip with the period of the judges, recover with David, and have a mixed record (especially negative when Samaria is around) during the monarchy. The exilic period isn’t as negative as you might expect, nor the return period as positive. In the New Testament, things start off fine with Jesus, then quickly turn negative as opposition to his message grows. The story of the early church, especially in the epistles, is largely positive.
HENRICO, VA (WWBT) – NBC12 has uncovered one of those stories that makes you think: "How in the world does that happen?!" A truck filled with President Obama's podiums and audio equipment was stolen in Henrico just days before his visit to Chesterfield.
We confirmed an investigation with the U.S. Defense Department. There are still a lot of questions. The biggest one being did the thieves intentionally target the President's truck or did they take advantage of a crime of opportunity and give a big "uh-oh" when they saw what was inside.
When you see President Obama speak, there is a pretty typical setup including the presidential seal on a podium, the see-thru Teleprompter and a portable sound system.
Thieves saw the truck carrying that equipment and couldn't resist the target.
