To their considerable credit, the protesters objected to the lawless harassment from the Houston Police, refusing to comply with unconstitutional demands and loudly denouncing the unwarranted acts of assault, abduction, and -- eventually -- aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Frustrated by his inability to intimidate the rambunctious but peaceful crowd, the officer grabbed a shotgun and jacked a shell into the chamber.
A few seconds earlier, the officer had waddled menacingly toward the protesters and grunted: "Your freedom ends tonight."
Broze was charged with a spurious misdemeanor called "failure to obey" -- a charge that assumes that peaceful, law-abiding citizens are required to render immediate, unquestioning obedience to any demand that dribbles down the chins of an ambulatory carbohydrate sculpture with a bad crewcut and an extra-extra large government-issued costume. Micah Jackson was detained, but eventually released without charges.
Hey Rich. I live in Houston and alot of the police do have a serous attitude. HPD isnt as bad as the County Constables. It is amazing what a 50 cent badge can do to some egos.
ReplyDeleteConstables are bad. They fail to remember that they are elected and can just as easy, loose the job. It seems that's JBT is the main theme when any po-po attend any police academy.
ReplyDeleteI saw this alot when I worked in the prison. 18yr olds were bullied in HS, now they think they can turn the tables.
I used to like to go shopping in Houston, now I despise it. Now we go to Lufkin. Same distance, same type of stores, just not he headache of the big city. It still has the small town feel to it even though it gotten alot bigger in the past decade.
