Reaping What We Sow

Garden Serf has a very important post concerning the storage of grain reserves and how most of the world has moved away from storing grain to just in time delivery.
While China expands its grain reserve, the USA relies on Just in Time Delivery and good luck from year to year. This is another example of the complete lack of foresight among what sadly passes for modern leadership in America. Meanwhile, with the help of USAID even little Rwanda is making plans for a reserve:

I grew up farming row crop and most of the land around us was cropland.  Now days that amount has decreased by 40% to make way for subdivisions, planned communities, strip malls, or the dreaded CRP land

What a joke.  Fed Gov pays you to leave your producing land fallow to keep the prices up.

I moved from that area in 1984 and at that time both sides of the family were farming about 4000 ac of land.  Present day, that is down to one side of the family and to about 500 ac.  Of the family that is still living in that area of Indiana, it seems that none want to continue the family tradition.  people don't want to do the hard work it takes and throw in the skyrocketing cost of equipment, up keep, seed, fert, etc.  Well we have cut our own throats.

In a day where we need to be stockpiling all that we can, the globalists are busy making sure that we can not be self reliant.  There is a systemic problem in the  USA with the destruction of grain elevators and other grain storage areas.

Winter is approaching in North America. I hope you’re making plans. I am. The grain silo in the town where I grew up has been slated for demolition. And, it wasn’t because the farmland was paved over. Production is still as good as ever. TPTB just determined it would be better to store the harvest farther away at a different rail terminal until it was transported elsewhere. The gears are already turning in my head about the many long winters ahead in the 2000-teens.
We once held the largest strategic reserves of grain and the countries of the world came to us to buy when they had a bad harvest.  But just like Garden Serf states above, there are many of the countries grain storage facilities that are being slated for demo.

Some have said that the world is just one poor harvest away from chaos and it seems a number of countries are now taking this literally

So this winter look for food prices to go through the roof and maybe even  critical shortages given the drought we are having in Texas and most of the southern states and the flooding the upper Midwest.  Both regions are critical producers of main staple grains.

Vicious racist attack against Boer by traffic cops: his toddler-sons teargassed… That's what a white c**nt looks like after we f**ked him up:

Beeld journalist Buks Viljoen describes black traffic cops bragging about beating up 42-year-old Afrikaner farmer Rikus Ras, in front of his two terrified little sons.Little Heinrich, 2, and Rikus, 3, were with their dad in his bakkie when he was driving to his farm near Villiers. His workers were riding in the back of the bakkie, his children were in the cab.

The Ignorance

"I was laid off. I am denied employment. I have no insurance because of corporate corruption of our wonderful democratic system. Occupy Houston!"

The above quote from the Houston Chron shows the naivety, stupidity, or choose your own word for most all of these dumbass' s who have joined this hijacked movement.

Most of us in Texas know that Houston is a libtard left city with a carpet munching mayor who is almost as bad as the DC occupier with her views & policies.  I am really surprised she is not out there with them or publicly supporting them.

Several hundred protesters - young and old, healthy and disabled - converged in downtown Houston Thursday to demand greater social and economic justice under the banner of the Occupy Houston movement.

122 destructive devices in the couple's home

via KPRC Ch 2 Houston

A woman has been accused of making more than 100 destructive devices with her common law husband, who fatally shot a sheriff's deputy.

Pamela Leggett, 32, has been charged with aiding and abetting in the making and possession of destructive devices and conspiring to make and possess destructive devices and firearms.

Baytown police said two utilities workers went to the home Leggett shared with Gilbert Ortez Jr. on West Osage Drive in the Tower Terrace subdivision in July 2009 to shut off the water.Investigators said Leggett went outside and fired shots at the utility worker.

Chambers County sheriff's deputies went out to the home to investigate. When Leggett was taken into custody, Ortez fired shots, fatally wounding Deputy Shane Detwiler, investigators said.

A subsequent standoff at the home lasted for several hours and ended when investigators discovered that Ortez was dead.

Detectives said he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.Detectives said they found 122 destructive devices in the couple's home.

Officials described it as one of the largest illegal bomb making operations ever discovered in the country.Investigators said that from March 2006 through July 2009, the couple obtained chemicals, some through eBay, to make explosives.

Federal investigators said that some of the devices contained pieces of rebar, nails and bullets.Officials said they have not determined why the couple was making bombs.

Leggett has also been accused of having a machine gun, a short barreled rifle and three illegal silencers in violation of federal firearms statute

The Binky Man

Looks like Holder has gotten shook up withe the letter sent in by the 9 Sheriff's and by Idaho's Raul Labrador.

via Big Govt.

I just received an email with a letter from Attorney General Eric Holder attached to it.

The hard copy of the letter was sent to the House Oversight Committee in what appears to be a rather strained attempt to quell the storm surrounding Fast and Furious.

I simply cannot sit idly by as a Majority Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform suggests, as happened this week, that law enforcement and government employees who devote their lives to protecting our citizens be considered “accessories to murder.” Such irresponsible and inflammatory rhetoric must be repudiated in the strongest possible terms. Those who serve in the ranks of law enforcement are our Nation’s heroes and deserve our Nation’s thanks, not the disrespect that is being heaped on them by those who seek political advantage.
On a different note,  Some breaking news from DoJ is that Holder got an unexpected gift from Obama to help him through these difficult times..  Below is a picture of the gift.

Roll Call

What could possibly go wrong with this?......

via Cryptogon from Pop Sci

Roll call is going high-tech in Washington County, Fla. Rather than the usual name calling and response, students are now checking into class with finger scanning devices. And to keep better track of students from the minute they come under district supervision until they are delivered safely home again, the scanners are now moving from the school building to the school bus.
The systems have been active inside Washington County schools for roughly two months, but since most of the students in the district ride the bus anyhow, officials have decided the best place for the scanners is on the buses themselves. In the next week, a handful of buses will get the scanners. If the system proves worthwhile, all buses will have them by semester’s end.
At $30 per student per year, the system isn’t necessarily cheap. But considering the uptick in attendance (which means more money from the state in many districts) and the inherent increase in accountability and student safety, it may well be worth the cost. And naturally, parents who don’t want their children fingerprinted coming to and from school for whatever reason can opt to have their kids check in with their teachers in a more analog fashion.

Obama Appoints Singer Shakira To White House Initiative On Education For Hispanic Americans

Okay, I’ll admit, I adore Shakira.

But even I have to wonder about President Obama appointing someone to a commission on “White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans” who. . .

A) is not a U.S. citizen, and thus, not, technically, a “Hispanic American” in the context as it is commonly used . . .
B) has had one short experience with college, consisting of one course at UCLA . . .

C) was described as an “absentminded” high-school student.

A True Storeytale

Ever wonder what would happen if so called “common sense” gun laws were taken to the extreme. What would you do if an intruder came into your home and you had to jump through bureaucratic hoops to defend yourself. This video explores that concept. This film is a protest to the expansion of “Nanny State” laws that are taking root in places like California, New York, Illinois, and Washington D.C. just to name a few. It’s just a matter of time before we are all wearing our state required helmets when we walk down the street.
The worst part is that I have friends who think that the gun control systems portrayed in this movie are reasonable and understandable. This scares the daylights out of me as they are the ones who would be voting for or against such systems.

Looks like more folks are jumping on the bad wagon to get rid of that bastard Holder.

Locked Up Tight

Looks like the asshole sitting in the White house wants lock up ALL his records so no one can see what he has committed.

So, it doesnt matter if he wears the one above or the one below.  He is still a whiny little bitch.

via PJ Tattler

According to Judicial Watch, Rep. Edolphous Towns (D-NY) has introduced the Presidential Records Act Amendments of 2011. That bill would do with Obama’s presidential records what Obama has already done to his personal and collegiate records: Seal them up.
This looks like a sign of surrender to me. Why seal up Obama’s records now, if you think he’s strong to get re-elected next year?

And, how many Solyndras and executive directives to punish various enemies may be lurking in those records?

Outside the Box

Sticking it to them with their own rules.  I wonder how long before the retaliation starts.

via TTAG

Short Barreled AR-15s are all the rage these days. They’re light, easy to maneuver, and the recoil from a 5.56mm NATO round is still negligible even with the reduction in weight. The only problem is that in order to get one you need to jump through the ATF’s hoops, pay a $200 tax, and tell them every time you travel with it. In short, it’s a pain. Franklin Armory recently announced a new gun that lets you have all the fun of an SBR without any of the paperwork by exploiting an interesting loophole in the law in a frankly genius way.

A rifle, legally speaking, is designed to be fired using a stock. This doesn’t have a stock and so doesn’t meet the definition. A pistol, legally speaking, is a weapon designed to be fired using one hand. Because this gun has a forward grip it was designed to be fired using two hands and doesn’t meet the definition. That allows it to be classified as an AOW or “Any Other Weapon,” but AOWs have to be less than 23 inches in overall length. This weapon is just a hair over 23 inches, and so falls out of that definition as well. Therefore it’s still a firearm, but not subject to the NFA. As long as you don’t carry it concealed, that is.
The ATF, in a letter to Franklin Armory, confirmed all of this legal stuff was true. That paved the way for them to start selling a gun specifically designed to meet those exact criteria, the XO-26b, and you too can own one for the low price of $1,149.99! Each one comes with a copy of the ATF’s letter, just in case your FFL starts giving you that quizzical look.
Or you could build one, I suppose.
Anyone want to take bets on how long it takes the ATF to reverse their decision?

Official in Charge of Green Energy Loan Program Resigns

Let's hope it comes down fast.  But with the GOP leadership & the checkbook man coming out with statements like the below.  Were screwed 9 ways to nowhere.

Source
Following Governor Christie’s announcement on Tuesday top GOP official and bundler Gerogette Mosbacher told reporters, “We do not consider Perry a factor… We know who will be our nominee.”
Race for 2012 reported:
Those words were spoken today by Georgette Mosbacher, RNC Finance Co-Chair and huge GOP fundraiser, after Chris Christie’s announcement. The “we” is all the big bundlers, fundraisers, and money folks who have been sitting on the sidelines waiting for the field to be set — and that quote represents the coalescing around Mitt Romney that is expected to happen rather quickly now. Mosbacher went on to say:

I think tomorrow, we’ll be contacting one another and probably put something together with Romney… And I would say that the race is now Romney and Obama. Quite frankly, the enthusiasm wasn’t there at the outset. He’s less conservative than a lot of us would like. However, our first and foremost goal is to defeat Obama. And we do believe Romney, in terms of independents, will be a strong candidate. We will coalesce behind him now… the time has come to get behind him… Tomorrow I’ll be on the phone all day. Quite frankly, it’ll be easier, because now we know who it is who will be our nominee. So we will pull our Rolodexes out and get to work.”

All to make our lives easier....

What could possibly go wrong?

via Cryptogon

People are going to pay a lot of money to have their asses tracked to within a couple of meters by a device running a civilian version of DARPA’s soldier’s servant software.

S i R I.
SRI = Stanford Research Institute.

It turns out that Apple’s Siri used to be SRI’s Siri, and SRI’s Siri is…

Are you ready? A spinoff of DARPA’s PAL (Perceptive Assistant that Learns) program, which SRI called CALO (Cognitive Agent that Learns and Organizes).

SRI has dubbed its new project CALO, for Cognitive Agent that Learns and Organizes. The name was inspired by the Latin word “calonis”, which means “soldier’s servant”. The goal of the project is to create cognitive software systems, that is, systems that can reason, learn from experience, be told what to do, explain what they are doing, reflect on their experience, and respond robustly to surprise.

The software, which will learn by interacting with and being advised by its users, will handle a broad range of interrelated decision-making tasks that have in the past been resistant to automation. It will have the capability to engage in and lead routine tasks, and to assist when the unexpected happens. To focus the research on real problems and to ensure the software meets requirements such as privacy, security, and trust, the CALO project researchers will themselves use the technology during its development.

SRI is leading the multidisciplinary CALO project team, and, beyond participating in the research program, is also responsible for overall project direction and management and the development of prototypes.

Facts of Life

As TL said in his latest post

examine our inaction. We will not harass or bother the justices of the Supreme Court, who routinely betray the intent of  the Constitution because we will be thrown in jail. We will not stand up for liberty at the airport because we will be detained, miss our flight and perhaps be thrown in jail. We will not cause a ruckus in the House of Representatives because we will be thrown in jail. We will not attempt to interfere with the FED because we will be thrown in jail.
The groups that have started the attack on Wall Street are now branching out.

They do not fear jail, because most have nothing to lose other than being put in the cell and being having  lost a little time.  It is a badge of honor for them to be arrested in the name of "The Cause".  Why?  They are the teenagers, college kids, etc who don't have the hard decision to make that will effect the family that relies on them.  Take the stand or take care my family?

While many of want to take the hard stand and resist, we must choose to pick our battles and choose the time & method of our fight.

These are just the facts of life.

Don't despair or get discouraged.  The time is coming when the fight will be here for all of us.

Until then, resist ANY WAY YOU CAN.

Two employees of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and two others were arrested Tuesday in a $20 million bribery and kickback case that prosecutors say helped pay for the purchase of more than a dozen properties, Rolex and Cartier watches, fancy sports cars and hotel accommodations, first-class airline tickets and a trove of other personal luxuries.

An indictment unsealed Tuesday includes charges of bribery, conspiracy and unlawful kickbacks. The two Army Corps employees, Kerry F. Khan, a program manager, and Michael A. Alexander, a program director, received kickbacks in exchange for directing government contracts to a subcontractor specializing in software encryption devices and other information technology, prosecutors say. The men had the authority either to order products and services through government contracts or to secure funding for projects.

We Are Anarchists and Revolutionaries,‘This Is the Beginning of a Revolution in This Country’

2 Faced

Via Kerodin

Consider Curtis' insight to the OathKeepers, here.

There are very few who truly want a Constitutional Republic and the ideal of Liberty as articulated by Jefferson.

Most have a personal agenda that is not necessarily what they present to the world.

OathKeepers is unquestionably one such group.  They have their agenda...don't assume it matches yours, whatever they put in their slick Membership brochure.

Remember, any active LEO must injure the Constitution every day he is on the job, even if he wears that OathKeepers tab on his weekend gun range fatigues.  The list of crimes for which he arrests people that are unconstitutional is very, very long.
