Bomb Explodes in Colorado Couples Car

There is more to the story that what is written.

But the real gem in this is DON'T PICK SHIT UP OFF THE STREETS.

Lafayette police: Bomb left in paper bag with victims' names on it

The device that exploded inside a car in Lafayette on Saturday afternoon, sending a husband and wife to the hospital with serious burns, was inside a paper bag with the victims' names written on it, investigators revealed this morning

Allyson Stone picked up the package and put it in the car as they left their home, en route to Boulder. Christopher Stone told police they had driven about a block and were mid-block on Ravenwood Lane when his wife began to open the package, setting off "some kind of explosive device that severely burned both of them," according to the news release.

Don't forget about this little tidbit of info.
Following the explosion, Boulder County dispatchers initiated a reverse-911 call to the neighborhood about the incident. About 20 homes in the immediate vicinity of the car were evacuated as investigators spent the next eight hours securing the vehicle.

911: When Seconds Count...They're Hours Away

Man Ticketed for Calling 911 Three Times…to Report a Break-In at His Mother’s Home

Took them 3 hours to show up and he get's this response.

When police finally showed up, they talked to a witness who said he had seen two males wearing black hoods break into the home

The officer said] there was nothing they could do about it,” Street said. “I asked him if they would’ve came on time, the guys would’ve still been there? He said, if you want us to have a faster response time, contact the mayor to see if we can arrive on time faster and have more police officers.”

And they wonder why they are seeing more of this.

Oh Shit Moment

This is one of those Oh Shit moments.

Now on a positive note.

Remember the post I had last month about the African Game warden who killed the lion with his bare hands?

This is another case like that.  Even though this young lady was in a bad place, she kept her head & survived because she DID NOT freeze up.

Now...Back to our regular programming

Erin Langworthy was bungee jumping over the Zambezi River on New Year’s Eve when her cord broke 25 meters — or about 80 feet — above the water. According to Australia’s Channel 9 News, the total bungee drop is about 360 feet. The river divides Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Rose Bowl Parade 2012

They are going to do one of these over the Super Bowl. LOL

USACE

Bill was having some problems this morning with WordPress and asked me to post these 2 pics.  They are from his post regarding a new .gov building being built in Houston.

Zoom in and examine the framing, the heavy rebar being used.  Don't forget to notice that covered sally port on the front of the building.  Remind anyone of anything?????

How about the entrance to VBC complex in Baghdad, COB Spiecher in Tikrit, and probably many more.

Yes sir there is some hokey shit going on.

Here is the link to the construction firm doing the build.  You make the informed decision.

Newark Mayor, Cory Booker, issued a Gun Stoppers video that looks like he's hawking some get-rich-quick scheme that you'd see at 2 a.m. on cable TV -- Ya give us the guns; we give ya the cash! Just call the Gun-Grabbers snitch line and receive a cool grand, even if there is no conviction of a crime!

You Have Insufficient Funds

From the land of their pResident.

You can't write shit this funny.  The lottery checks from the state bounce. LMAO.

via CBS Chi-town
Eighty-five Illinois Lottery winners last week probably thought they were lucky — until they tried to cash in their winnings, that is.

Their checks, totaling $159,000 in lottery winnings, were no good.

Oh and don't forget this little tidbit of news from the Sun Times.

Illinois, unable to solve its long-running financial problems, was given the lowest credit rating of any state in the country by Moody’s Investors Service on Friday, a move that will increase costs to taxpayers.

A second agency, Standard & Poor’s, left its Illinois rating unchanged but warned of a negative outlook that could lead to a downgrade in the future. A day earlier, Fitch Ratings also left the rating unchanged and declared a stable outlook.

The worst rating in the nation. ROFLMAO.

Highwayman

Highwayman- a holdup man, especially one on horseback, who robbed travelers along a public road

That is what we are seeing more & more with these seizures by these gangs of thugs.

Below is another horror story.  They were carrying money for a church to buy property and the wonderful LEO of Virginia decided they were criminals and didn't need it.  Even thought the church corroborated their story.

We have already been seeing 1-man posse's pop up.  I would look for organized groups in the future to combat this thievery.

via WP

VICTOR RAMOS GUZMAN and his brother-in-law noticed a Virginia state trooper pull up beside them as they traveled on Interstate 95 near Emporia, Va., in November. “A police car drove by in parallel, looked at our faces and on no more than that decided to stop us,” Mr. Guzman said in a sworn affidavit.

Virginia State Police say the men were speeding, driving 86 mph in a 70 mph zone and “following too closely.” But the trooper did not issue a ticket that morning despite the allegedly excessive speed nor did he charge the men with any civil or criminal violations. He did, however, seize $28,500 in cash.

via The Agitator

Trooper Murphy checked their papers, legal status, rental information, et cetera. Having found no violations, the trooper also called the FBI and ICE. The FBI declined involvement. The officer confiscated the cash and issued a receipt for it.

Guzman and Sorto were told by Trooper Murphy that the seizure was being executed “on order of ICE” but that no ICE agents were available because they were in a meeting. Guzman asked that they contact the church to verify their account of the currency trooper Murphy declined to do so and, apparently, told them to shut up. They were also told that they would be contacted by ICE Norfolk.

Domestic Terrorist Arrested in Houston

I saw this last night on the KPRC news at 10pm.  For some reason I can't get the video to embed, so head to the link to watch.  Read the "Oswald" connection they try to make in the caption below the video.

Jan. 6, 2012: A man is arrested in northwest Harris County after he is spotted on a grassy knoll with weapons. Phil Archer reports.

The guy had a AK & pistol and was standing out along the street in Houston.  The report alludes to him wanting to stand up for our 2A rights & defending liberty.  Plus he has a liberty patch on his load bearing vest.

Phil Archer stated that he was wearing 2 bullet proof vests.  Once again dumb ass reporters show their ignorance.  They also said that he had changed the s/n of the AK.

Once again the "see something...say something" sheeple mentality kicked in.  One lady was so afraid because he had a gun, she called the local thugs to come get him.

"Avoid Ghetto" App

This shit cracks me up.

via CBS

Microsoft has been granted a patent for its “avoid ghetto” feature for GPS devices.

A GPS device is used to find shortcuts and avoid traffic, but Microsoft’s patent states that a route can be plotted for pedestrians to avoid an “unsafe neighborhood or being in an open area that is subject to harsh temperatures.”
Created for mobile phones, the technology uses the latest crime statistics and weather data and includes them when calculating a route.

Smoke Em' While You Can

Michael Anthony Henderson Jr, 19, was shot dead.
Once again the Castle Doctrine saves lives along with guns.  In Henderson, NC an 14 yr old stood his ground.
Police in North Carolina revealed a 14-year-old boy shot dead an intruder attempting to break into his home while he and his sister were alone.

The teen opened fire with a shotgun while his 17-year-old sister hid in a closet as a gang of men attempted to smash their way into their home
Now what is jacked is the the below from the 911 call by the dispatcher. There were still 3 other roaming around that came with the dead one.
'Do not, while I’m on the phone, do not fire that firearm, OK?' the dispatcher says
In the call, the teen, says: 'I just shot the man. He came around the corner. I shot him. He broke the whole glass out (of the back door).'

He continues: 'I don't know how many it was (who broke in). Just one came around the corner. I got one more in the chamber. I'm going to shoot again,' the boy said.

Nil Desperandum

I found this over at Oathkeepers and thought it was appropriate.

When in the darkest hours of the year 1772, when disunion against British tyranny seemed eminent, Warren of Plymouth was desponding and said:

"The towns are dead and cannot be raised without a miracle."

Samuel Adams responded: "I am very sorry to find in you the least approach towards despair. Nil desperandum (never despair) is a model for you and me. All are not dead; and where there is a spark of patriotic fire, we will rekindle it." (Bancroft"History of the United States" Vol. III pg. 426)

Down Range: Prepping for Free

via Down Range

I hear a lot of issues about money when it comes to preps. Here is an idea which is free.
I have spent a lot of time living in the field and eating bland food's, one thing I learned is little things make all the difference when it comes to food. I have also eaten MRE's for years in the field and one thing that is traded the most between troops is the condiment packets, nothing makes the crackers taste better than peanut butter or jelly.

Most of the times when you go to a fast food restaurant we get those little packets of ketchup, mayo, salt, pepper, relish, honey, jelly and crackers you can even find packets of soy sauce, duck sauce, vinegar etc. In hotels and some restaurants you get packets of coffee, tea, hot chocolate mix, sugar, mints etc.

Instead of throwing them away take them home and drop them in a bag or box. We like to prep with jars of this kind of thing but the little packets would be very handy in certain instances like camping or hiking or living on the move. For the most part they should last a very long time. A little packet of jelly has about 50 calories and a ketchup packet is about 15 calories. Trust me if you were eating beans and rice every day a small amount of sauce would make a huge difference to the taste. Homeless people make soup out of these little packets mixed with hot water

The Teetering of the 5th

A federal judge will be deciding if the 5th Amendment is thrown out the window.

They have trashed every other Amendment that protects liberties, right?  Why not get rid of them all?

When will we smack that mosquito that keeps buzzing in your ear, slipping in and getting drinks of blood?

or will we let it bleed us to death?

Maybe some fogging is in order?

via Wired

Federal prosecutors want a judge to order a Colorado woman to provide the password to decrypt her laptop, which the government seized with a search warrant.

With backup from digital rights groups, the woman is fighting the feds, arguing that being forced to provide her password violates the Fifth Amendment’s protection against forced self-incrimination.

Colorado U.S. District Judge Robert Blackburn is expected to rule any day on whether to force defendant Ramona Fricosu to decrypt her Toshiba Satellite M305, which authorities seized from her in 2010 with a court warrant while investigating financial fraud.

Drug Bust or A Case of Self Defence

Does the below paragraph sound familiar???????

The team serving the search warrant involved officers from the Weber-Morgan Narcotics Strike Force. The force's website says the unit is made up of officers from the Weber County Sheriff's Office, local police departments and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency.
Remember Jose Guereno?

And now for the rest of the story.

via My way

A shooting in Ogden that killed an officer and wounded five other drug task force members and a suspect was sparked when officers tried to search the house where the suspect apparently lives, authorities said Thursday at a news conference.

Stewart suffered injuries that are not life threatening, though it's unclear if he was shot. He is in a hospital under guard.

"It's a very, very sad day for Ogden," said Ogden Police Chief Wayne Tarwater.
Authorities said the conditions of the others officers range from serious to critical.

The officers went to the house Wednesday evening intending to search it as part of an drug-related investigation. When there was no answer, they entered and were fired upon.
And another example of the type & skill set of shooting that the police have.  That once a year qual type of skills.  Even for the SWAT team. LOL :)  I wonder how many rounds they sprayed?  My guess is that they each empties their mags with VERY minimal effect.

From what I have read online, all I can find is that they were serving a drug search warrant.  No mentions if any were actually found.
